With ISO9001 (quality) and AS4801 (OHS) feathers in the cap, one may ask why a process control solutions company would need Environmental Management practices in place?
A modern business cannot plan for long term survival without considering its operational impact on the environment. In consideration of Parasyn’s role in Environmental Management, both business operations and client operations were carefully considered in terms of responsibility, execution methods, management processes and reporting.
In terms of business operations, because Parasyn does not use raw materials in production, the EMS latitude narrows to consider energy conservation and waste management. Energy conservation and efficient use of work spaces has resulted in significant reductions in direct operational costs. This EMS initiative has combined with a number of other operational improvements helped Parasyn to keep its customer pricing schedules unchanged for yet another year. This is good news for Parasyn customers who have received indirect benefits from EMS attention. The EMS framework has helped Parasyn to be more sensitive to important factors outside of commercial production of systems, delivery of products and providing services.
Intelligent water management solutions and CSG Control Systems are important focus areas for Parasyn. On these types of systems Parasyn is often solely responsible for the site works and operations. In these cases it is easy to see why environmental management is key to our long term success, our customer’s sustainability and importantly their ongoing customer relations. It is true the other industries serviced by Parasyn (power, rail, manufacturing, mining) also have EMS obligations, but due to the nature of Parasyn’s involvement in projects in those industries the EMS responsibilities are significantly less in terms of managing and controlling specific and reportable outcomes.
So what do we care about?
We care about where we live, but we also care about where our natural resources come from. We care about the environment where the natural resources originate. Working closely with our infrastructure providing customers, we enjoy the benefits of sharing our precious resources effectively yet responsibly. Of course our contribution is technology and kit, but our responsibilities reach out beyond the bits and pieces to the entire system that intelligently manages resources as a commodity.
Parasyn is proud of its certification achievements which represent an effort reflective of staff commitment. More importantly, because Parasyn practices QMS, OHS and EMS principles, it means the organisation is healthier. A better organisation is not the pinnacle of the mountain either, as our commitment is to continue to progressively learn news ways to improve and subsequently update our practices to suit the ever changing industrial and consumer environments. This is ongoing, relentless and not an event which occurs each time the re-certification falls due.
